  • We use the collected email addresses of our mailing list subscribers to send emails with marketing messages, news related to our work, information about career opportunities, nominations, and resources.
  • We will not email you unless you consent to email communication on the Site.
  • You can unsubscribe from our email list by replying to our email with the word Unsubscribe.

Submitting forms on our Site

  • We use self-hosted and third-party services to handle form submissions on our Site, including Donor Box, Google Forms, and Airtable.
  • When you submit a form on our Site, your personal information and any other information you submit is stored securely on Google Forms and Airtable.
  • After you submit a form, your information is shared with relevant partners based on the interests you select in your form submission.
  • The personal data we collect when you submit a form includes:
    • Your name
    • Your email address
    • Your city/state
    • Your race/ethnicity
    • Your gender
    • Your pronouns
    • Your age range
    • Your highest level of education

  • We will use the information you submit to draft your narrative and prioritize our outreach to ensure we feature public servants from various races/ethnicities, ages, genders, locations, levels of government, education levels, and backgrounds.

Donating to Humans of Public Service from our site

  • Donating to Humans of Public Service from our site
  • When you make donations to Humans of Public Service through our site, your personal information is transferred to, and processed by, DonorBox.
  • DonorBox processes donation transactions using Stripe, PayPal, and Plaid as payment processors. The credit card or bank account information you supply is transmitted securely to the relevant payment processors.
  • The personal data we collect when you make an online donation includes:
    • Your name
    • Your address
    • Your email address
    • Domain from which you access the Internet
    • IP address
    • The operating system on your computer and information about the browser you used when visiting the site
    • Date and time when you submit the form
    • Address of the page on our website, or the third-party website that connected you to the sign-up form

Google Analytics

  • We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site and to gather aggregate performance metrics.
  • We’ve set up Google Analytics so that it doesn’t collect your full IP address.
