"Proud to increase protection against fraud and identity theft for the public."
I am a retired U.S. Army Veteran.
After serving for 20 years as a Military Policeman, I retired from the Army and joined the civilian federal service in the IT field. I felt a continuing sense of commitment to our nation and wanted to continue serving my country and making a difference for all Americans.
For the last 5 years, I have had the honor of working at the Program Support Center (PSC), of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). I am the Federal lead for the External User Management System (XMS), which is a tool that gives individual users the ability to choose how they log in to access HHS applications. By providing a choice of multiple, certified credential service providers (CSPs), XMS allows users to select the CSP they are most comfortable verifying their identity with and use one set of credentials across the agency, rather than managing multiple usernames and passwords. This allows for coordination across the agency, improved consumer experience, and increased protection against fraud and identity theft.
I’m proud that my work has made it possible for our public and federal HHS system users to have safe and reliable access to HHS applications. There are many federal workers who are committed to ensuring that all our users have a platform to help secure their data against fraud or malicious attacks.
