I am a data science and visualization specialist by profession.

I develop data platforms that can take enormous amounts of data and provide users with meaningful, bite-sized insights from the data. As a technologist, I am very goal-driven, and the end goal is always serving the people. There’s no better place for that work than in the public sector. Rather than complaining about problems I’ve seen in government tech service, I felt the need to roll up my sleeves and get to work making it better. That’s why I decided to join public service as a Presidential Innovation Fellow.

Currently I am working at Small Business Administration as the data lead in a special project focusing on advancing equity among American entrepreneurial communities through data and technology. As a South-Asian Muslim woman who grew up in Bangladesh, this is a tremendous opportunity to bring a global and agile perspective to how we make decisions. Even better, I get to utilize my technical skills to bring evidence for such decisions. This work is helping small business communities to recover from the previous crisis and look forward to a brighter future.
