"Serving people and communities in need."
Growing up, I lived in a diverse community.
My mother and grandmother both cared for individuals with disabilities, helping them with social, vocational, and living skills. I developed an appreciation for serving people and communities in need, and as a father, I want my daughter to experience the world and all the benefits these diverse communities have to offer.
I’m a Policy Analyst for the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS), which is Arizona’s agency in charge of Medicaid oversight and application processing for special Medicaid programs. My duties include providing guidance to state staff on the proper implementation of Medicaid policy, writing educational documents, and serving as a subject matter expert to our website vendor and other special interest groups. I’m proud of the work we do and very appreciative of AHCCCS’ efforts to address the social determinants of health, including providing housing assistance, opioid treatment, and other programs to help marginalized communities and people in need.
