I'm a very lucky husband, father of three, United States Marine, disabled veteran, and former professional fighter.

During my time in the Marine Corps, I spent over a year deployed to Fallujah, Iraq, where I translated Arabic in support of combat operations. After active duty, I worked in roles focused on identifying roadside bombs in war zones before they blew up. We used an incredible amount of data to make predictions and test hypotheses, with the very important goal of keeping troops and civilians alive.

After working as a contractor for the Pentagon and deploying to Afghanistan twice, the federal government published a request for comment on its initial Federal Data Strategy. For the first time, I was excited to see executive and political leadership acknowledge data as an important ingredient to better serving the public. I joined the General Services Administration and helped stand up their Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence, along with colleagues at the Department of Defense Joint AI Center.

In 2021, I joined the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). I am the Chief of Business Intelligence Services and I manage the Corporation's enterprise data, advanced analytics, intelligent automation, and artificial intelligence delivery. Our job is to deliver the right data to all of our users in a timely, decision making context. While it has been an honor of my career to be involved in national security, saving lives while ensuring a strong and prosperous America, I’ve also learned that financial and economic security IS national security. One amazing feature of the American government is that it guarantees Americans will always be able to take their insured deposits out of the bank, which is foundational to American trust in government. I am so grateful to be part of the FDIC and to enable this organization to use technology to deliver on that promise to the American people.
