"I reset my life by joining the Peace Corps and serving in Romania."
I was lent a copy of Viktor Frankl’s book Man’s Search for Meaning at a time when my private sector work was unfulfilling.

I had more than ten years of professional work experience under my belt, and while I enjoyed the teams I worked with, the work left me wanting more. I needed more purpose. Soon after that, I reset my life by joining the Peace Corps and serving in Romania. From that point forward, I knew that a life of public service was the way to go.
Today, I'm a Lead Strategy and Engagement Specialist for the Information Technology Category in the Federal Acquisition Service of the General Services Administration (GSA). Our team provides comprehensive IT solutions to help Federal, State, Local, and Tribal organizations save time and money and deliver on their missions. Helping government agencies achieve their missions is core to why GSA exists. Our mandate involves helping agencies save time and money through streamlined procurement of daily and long-term necessities. By using our contracts, agencies can rest assured that they are leveraging the full buying power of the government for pricing and receiving solutions from suppliers that have already been vetted.
I’ve been with GSA for 8+ years and get to work on meaningful, broad-impact projects constantly. Over the years, I’ve supported several contracts from the lead-up to launch through agency adoption and use. Not only do these tools help agencies achieve their mission, but they also provide socio-economic set-aside opportunities to a variety of small businesses, such as Service Disabled Veteran Owned, Women Owned, Disadvantaged, and HUBZone. While nothing may ever top my public service experience serving in the Peace Corps, I think that colleagues throughout GSA know and trust me as a helpful and knowledgeable resource, and I find that very fulfilling. I now have more than 10 years of public service and have loved every minute of it.
