I joined the Department of Social Services with the Children’s Division in 2013.

Throughout my career, I have served in all areas of child protection, including frontline work, supervision, and leadership development through all steps of the child protection process. I currently serve as a Project Manager and am focused on leadership development, process improvement, and growth to improve the service and protection of our most vulnerable citizens – children.

I left retail banking to come to the world of child welfare, which I was quite unsure of. I joined public service so that my career would have meaning and would impact my community and the world around me. Ten years later, while I can tell you that public service is not a cakewalk, this career has been the most inspiring and has brought me incredible joy. We walk alongside kiddos and families in some of their hardest, but also most joyful moments. I have seen parents work to reunify with their children, I have found forever homes for children who couldn't be with their families anymore, I have watched employees succeed and stay in child welfare for their entire careers, and I have worked with team members to implement state and federal legislation that changes kids’ lives every day. Public servants often joke that you don't join for the money, but this career makes you richer beyond belief!
