I grew up in New York, just outside of New York City.

I had just graduated from Villanova University and was working as an Engineer when the Twin Towers were hit. It was when I saw the shock that my home city and the rest of the country experienced that I made the decision to serve. I walked down to the nearest recruiting center and joined the U.S. Army as an explosive ordnance disposal technician (EOD) (or what you might know as the “bomb squad”). After my military service I continued my service in a number of civilian federal roles with the U.S. Air Force, the Department of Defense Education Activity, and the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

With each role, almost all in new and foreign locations, I was able to widen my worldly perspectives and really learn what it means to serve the American people stateside and abroad. I now work as a digital and content strategist at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, working to improve the experience for Americans as they navigate the personal finance sector. Throughout the course of my years in public service, a highlight has been the many smart, talented, creative, and dedicated public servants I’ve met along the way. These people embody the values of public service, have broadened my experiences, and improved my way of thinking as we work to tackle the biggest challenges and make improvements to enhance the American citizen experience.
