I ascribe to the principle of Ubuntu, meaning “I am a human because I belong, I participate,” and to the values of respect, fairness, and fulfillment.

These are what led me to public service. Because I stand on the shoulders of those who came before me, it is my personal commitment to provide shoulders for future generations to stand upon. Working in public service has allowed me to contribute to enriching the lives of people all over the world.

As a Fellow in the White House Leadership Development Program, I served in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy where I led an interagency subcommittee working to bring more taxpayer-funded research inventions to the marketplace. I also worked on policy streams focused on bringing more manufacturing jobs to the U.S., reducing human rights abuses, and helping our communities recover from the ravages of the pandemic.

Now, I serve as a Senior Export Policy Analyst for the U.S. Department of Commerce. I lead a new team created to use export controls to further sanctions on Russia and support the defense of Ukraine in response to the Russia-Ukraine war. We develop foreign policy and process transactions that expedite the delivery of a plethora of U.S. items to aid the Ukrainian people and restrict the transfer of items that would enhance the Russian military.
