Many years ago, I stood on Omaha Beach in the early morning hours of June 6th to commemorate those lost on D-Day.
My Uncle Mike, a Battle of the Bulge survivor, was by my side. He was one of the lucky ones. He dedicated his life to serving others – our Veterans, students, and his community. I believe the American people deserve good government every day and I have been honored to support extraordinary missions over the course of my career.
As a strategic advisor to the Federal Chief Information Officer, I identify opportunities to use technology to provide a simple, seamless, and secure customer experience for the American people. By bringing people, policies, and processes together, we are driving innovation forward so we can deliver secure, modern products and services to our friends, family, and neighbors. Everyday, people have easy, exceptional experiences with their favorite consumer brands; the same should be true when they interact with our government – whether it’s to get help after a disaster, apply for a student loan, or check on the status of a tax refund.
Anytime I purchase food from the grocery store, swipe my finger across my mobile phone, or hear about someone having a better digital experience when interacting with our government, I take great pride in knowing I contributed to those missions at USDA, NSF, and USDS. Today, more than 331 million people are relying on us to bring them a secure, modern government experience. With every success, we’re making our government better for those counting on us and it’s my hope we’ll inspire others to join us in serving our great country.
