"Public service has offered intangible and immeasurable benefits."
I’m a Business Operations Manager at the Defense Health Headquarters in Falls Church, Virginia.
Previously, I worked as a Financial Manager for the Defense Health Agency’s Reserve Health Readiness Program. Over the past 12 years, I've supported the Air Force and Army's active and guard components along the east coast in capacities including financial management, data and information management, budget, analysis, cost, audit, and accounting.
Public service has offered a number of benefits, including those that are intangible and immeasurable. Before joining the government, I admired those people I knew who served in the public sector and wanted to find my spot in public service, too. Public service offers endless opportunities and locations, with a high potential for anyone to find a great fit. I'm still in awe at the possibilities in government, past and present. I’ve also enjoyed meeting new people along my career journey who have become family. I’ve learned from exceptional leaders in the field who have shown integrity and reliability throughout their career and have inspired me to do the same. No matter how our careers pivot, it’s incredible to reconnect, reflect, share with pride all of our life changes, and point back to how we met in public service pursuits.
