"Putting differences aside to achieve a shared mission."

I was very close to my paternal grandparents who lived through the Great Depression, and then a World War.

I learned about how Americans put their differences aside and came together to achieve a shared mission. I wanted to bring that mission-first mindset and spirit of determination to my Federal Service. And even though I was just a small child when Skylab fell, I remember it clearly. It was how I was first introduced to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and I’ve been a fan ever since.

When NASA called to offer me a job, I felt like I landed on the moon. I’m currently working at NASA where I’m helping to modernize and transform our platforms, products and services as our first Digital Services Expert. Since joining NASA rather recently, I’ve been able to lead quite a few “design-thinking” workshops, accelerating our decision making, lowering risk, and providing an inclusive, diverse environment. Some of the decisions we make now in federal agencies will have an impact for decades to come, so I feel the urgency to get it right. Being trusted and relied upon to step up and help make decisions that have such an impact has been a highlight of my federal career.
