At a high level, my job is to help improve the work the County does through process improvement, performance management & fostering a culture of innovation. I’m currently working to bridge the digital divide in Cuyahoga County, one of the least connected regions in the country. We’ve been working with partners for years to try to connect the unconnected. But, with the various federal funding mechanisms in place now, we have a real chance to solve the issue. I’m currently in the process of bringing forward a $20M contract for our County Council’s approval to provide affordable, high-speed internet access to 25,000 residents across many of our least connected communities. If this contract is approved and fully implemented that will be my most exciting success to date. I have stayed in local government for the last 15+ years because the goal of my job everyday is to try to improve the community where I live for the people who live there. And that’s not a bad way to spend my day.
